Cradle to Career North Birkenhead
Empowering Communities, Shaping Futures
Cradle to Career is a collaborative initiative designed to unite residents, local services, professionals, and community leaders in support of the children and young people of North Birkenhead. By placing the community at the forefront of education, services, and local decision-making, the programme aims to create lasting, positive change for the future of this vibrant area.
Why North Birkenhead?
North Birkenhead faces significant challenges, with only 0.62 jobs available for every person aged 16-65. Additionally, half of the children in the area live in low-income households—three times the national average. These socio-economic barriers necessitate a focused approach to support the community’s most vulnerable.
Cradle to Career Programme Goals:
- Enhance Literacy Standards: Significantly improve reading and writing skills among local children, laying a strong foundation for future success.
- Streamline Family Support: Provide families with easy access to the resources and assistance they need, fostering a stronger, more resilient community.
- Improve Quality of Life: Elevate the overall well-being of all residents, ensuring a better quality of life for individuals and families alike.
- Create Opportunities: Generate new prospects for local children and young people, helping them achieve their full potential.
- Strengthen Communication: Foster better dialogue between the community and the organisations that serve them, creating a unified, supportive network.
